The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on June 27 that Idaho hospitals are allowed to provide emergency abortions when a patient's health is at risk, but did not directly address the issue of the state's restrictive abortion ban and federal law.

There were 11,634 criminal incidents and 13,337 related offenses reported as being motivated by racial, ethnic, ancestral, religious, sexual orientation, disability, or gender bias.

The FBI released its 2022 nationwide crime report, showing a decrease in violent crime, but an increase in property crime, while hate crimes increased by 794 incidents in California.
